Ok BIG problem! I have been looking ALL over for the Chauvet DMX-3F Fogger Adapter and it turns out Chauvet has discontinued this item and NOBODY has any in stock. Please tell me there is an alternative item I can use somewhere or some sort of Hack of something I can do to allow me to continue this project. I was trying to order 2 so I could use it on another prop as well. PLEASE HELP1

Probably the best thing then that you can do is to hack the manual fog button on a fog machine so that you can trigger it with a relay. That way you can operate the relay/Fog using a DMX dimmer pack.

This link may help some what. I would think that the pins on the controller's connection to the fog machine may be different so some of this may not be relevant. The best bet is to make the connection for the relay in the controller it's self. I know that there is a better set of instructions somewhere, I just need to find them.

This is not the one that I specifically remember from before, but it's basically the same. Perform this mod and then plug in the new wire to the DMX relay to trigger your fog.

Awesome! Thanks Rev. Noch. I think you were trying to explain this to me in another one of my threads and after reading up on these 2 links you gave me I finally get it!! I actually think I finally found a place that said they had 2 left in stock and ordered them earlier. But if they dont have them , I will definitely give your idea a shot. I at least have this knowledge for later!

OK here come the Noobie questions for this prop. Finished the Coffin and finally have all the parts (except for the Fog Converter). I guess my first question is on the Chauvet Dimmer/Relay Pack. If it is only for 4 channels, why are there 2 input plug spaces for each channel? are you able to plug 2 things in to one channel? if lets say you want to turn them both on and off at the same time, hence the same channel? More Noobie questions to follow im sure

I hope someone else pipes up because I've wondered the same thing. I only used two plugs on two different channels.

By the way, I used some small table lamps plugged into the DMX Relay Pack channels instead of the actual solenoids to make programming VSA easier. Light on/light off was the same as solenoid on/solenoid off.

Awesome, thanks Terra Was trying to think of a simple way to learn the VSA programming without having to plug everything in and going through hooking up the pneumatics and everything. Love your idea. Hope your doing to be around in the near future! lol Did you get my thank you email for the sound file?

Oops! Sorry, I'm really bad about checking my Gmail account.

You asked if I would have preferred the one big DMX light or the two small DMX lights in the coffin. That's a tough one. I would say the one big one. But, I did like being able to have one light strobe white while the other was doing colors. That flexibility was cool. It's up to you.

By the way, would you like me to send you my VSA routine to give you a start? Just lemme know.

I liked the flexibility you had as well Thanks again for everything! Dont go too far today ! lol
