Say hello to my new pirate! I just finished this today. He's a PVC framed static pirate that I plan on putting on a rocking chair and maybe animating the chair to have him rock. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out:

Thanks for the kind words. I got the appendages from Spencers last November during their Halloween prop clearance. They're Don Post foam-filled latex severed limbs. I have a left foot too, but it's just a foot, no calf, so I need to come up with a way to cover the frame. Right now I'm using a boot cover that came with the costume, and I'm not totally thrilled with how that looks. Maybe a peg leg would be better?

I'd love to add some leg and arm hair, just not sure if I have the patience for it. He definitely could use some dirtying up though!

I also agree. I think a peg leg would be a good idea.

i'll say it again he looks great aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggg hehehehe

he still needs some leg hair and dirt and ps i found a suggestion for applying your leg hair , use spray glue( cut some short hair in advance) and maybe sprinkle the hair once the glue is applied where you want hair ? that way it is fast and you get hair only where you want some (doesnt need to be spray glue but a thin coat of brushed on glue where you want hair) or you can roll the leg in the hair and they will stick to where their is glue and you brush down the exces hair off ? would suggest a trial out on something else before doing it on the pirates body part doh ....
