Here are a few pictures of Intermatic Home Systems, Handy remote and outdoor modules. I have been told that they are more stable than X-10. I have played around with them and they work very well Real time response. I got them from Ebay and amazon. A member on the forum turned me onto them and I have to say, they work great. I like the fact of six zones and the modules work better with more than one. They network very well together and so far no false triggers. I just wanted to be in control, not a pir sensor. I don't want to freak out the little ones if you know what I mean.

Remote Contoler was $30 and the outdoor moules ranged from $ 20-30 ea. But I saw after I bought them they were selling for remote $10 and modules $15-20. Good luck.

I wonder if it's possible to hack the remote controller to link up to your pc.

Don't need to hack the remote. There are lots of different Z-Wave interfaces available for the computer (USB & Serial). There is also lots of software available to support it. ControlThink makes a very nice SDK kit for developing your own applications with visual basic. There are also Z-Wave enabled PIR's available with can be linked to a module to turn it on/off based upon motion.

I bought some similar to that last year. Mine only had 3 modules. I forget where I ordered it from. Someone on the forum posted a link to them. But a few weeks ago I was in harbor freight and they had the same ones for 20 or 24 dollars. 3 modules and one remote.

Here in PA I have recently (today in fact) seen a setup very similar to these on clearance at 2 different Home Depots. Was in the lighting dept clearance section. Worth a look if you are shopping around.
