    Hey all.
Well I had told myself no more props for this season. Wrong answer. I have had the idea to build a coffin rider for more than a year. I have had a riding mower that I stripped down last spring just sitting around waiting for a coffin. Well I have had no luck finding a coffin on the cheap. Not doing much this weekend, I got a bug in my arse and was determined to make this project. So, no real coffin, well I need to build one on a large scale. So off to Lowes I went. I wanted to build it using pine but at $5.75 a board (1'' by 6'' by 8') I thought i was stuck again. I went to their fencing dept and low and behold found 1'' by 6'' by 6' fence board in a pile for a mere .50 cents a board. I had to change my plans a little but that's not a problem. The coffin is just over 7'' long and 36'' at it's widest point and 24'' high. I made 4 mounting planks that bolt to the foot boards of the tractor then the coffin just sits on these boards and is held with 2'' screws. There are 2 pieces of slip metal mounted to the rear seat deck of the tractor with 3'' bends on the other ends that screw to the coffin. These 2 bars keep the coffin from rocking. I also built side pipes for it out of 1 1/2 pvc. These will be painted chrome and i may plumb them out for smoke. I only have one side on so I could get an idea of the look. Once I got started on this i was surprised how fast it went. I have to go pick up a few more boards in the AM to finish up. There is a lot i want to do yet and over the next 2 days i should have this done. Here are a couple of pics. At this point I would say I have about 7 hours work and that includes a trip to lowes. I will post more as it comes along. But now i have a bigger ? What am I going to do with it?

I need something like that!!!! My town decided to plant a cornfield in our local cemetery that will be turned into a haunted maze. The roads are pretty narrow in there and I was thinking a coffin car would be perfect to cruise around in and scare the kids...in costume of course!
    Nice job on yours!

    Hey.
I have those on my lawn mower already.
I guess I just need some wood now.

That looks awesome. I think you should put some neon lighting under it. Nice job.
