Default Sconcon Servo Controllers

Hi all,

I am looking into building some 3-axis skulls and came across these servo controllers from Sconcon (Sconcon).

They look very interesting, because of the price and the fact that they can run independent of a PC.

Did a search here and found no posts, so I thought I would check if anyone has any experience with these?

Interesting...Looks like you need to buy the "Serial Translator" for an additional 13 bucks..Not a big deal, but the only concern I have about it is the ability to sync sound with it. You'll need that for talking skulls. Maybe in addition to a cowlacious you could use it PC free for two skulls. Yea, for around 130 bucks (cost plus 2 cowlacious boards)looks like a pretty good solution for 2 talking 3 axis skulls free from being tethered to a PC. I may look into it. Thanks!

That was pretty much my plan - the cowlacious/sconcon combo.

It has double memory of the EFX-TEK Prop-1 that will do the same thing.

Default Scon Controller

Hey SpookeyKingdom,

If you use a Scon controller to build your skulls I'd be glad to help with any questions or problems. This seems like a great application for my controller and I may want to optimize it for that application.

Orwill,

I just picked up the SB018M and RS232 interface you had up on Ebay, so as soon as it comes in I'll hook it up and let you know what I think.

Right now I am trying to decide between using the sconcon/cowlacious combo (providing standalone/no pc operation), or using VSA and the SSC32 - which will require a pc to operate.

Compatibility with VSA might be something to consider?

Thanks,

-Howard
