i am going to use VSA to run my animated skulls this year.. and i want to run my air cylynders off of it also. they have a electronic air valve. so when electricity is sent to it it opens and shuts.. is there a way i can hook up this to VSA?

    thanks

I just got a couple of battleswitch relays from lynxmotion, they plug in the servo controller board like a servo and can be programmed like a servo. You have to turn it on to make the relay energize and then when you want the event to end you have to turn the relay off. I think it works very well, especially if you're not running a lot of solenoids.

an easier way of programing this might be to put that vsa event in pulse mode and not bar mode, then you just draw an event and the relay will come on and last as long as the event lasts then it will turn off when the event is over

I would also vote for the kit 74 board, although I haven't heard of the battleswitch relay.

I guess it depends on how much they cost as opposed to the cost of the Kit 74 (about $38.00 if I remember right)

Battle switches are relays than can be controlled from a servo board, they are OK if you want to add a couple of simple relay function to a servo system, but at $20 per relay they soon become costly, where the Kit74 works out at $5 per relay.

Is the kit 74 available for a USB port? My laptop does not have a parallel port so I decided to use what was available. I agree that the kit 74 is the bigger bang for the buck , but I have not found anything that will work with my laptop.
