I am new to home haunting and would like to pick up 3 Gemmys this year. My theme will be a graveyard. I would love to hear what the people of this forum think are the best Gemmys to buy as a start.
HI....i have a few maybe not as much as some other people have on here because some collect them , just a word of warning , they often have malfunctions ,(life size ones) like eyes not lighting up , mouth movement wont work etc, i have experienced quite a few on almost every life size props to date but being electronicly prop challenged that way i rely on those gemmy props to animated my haunt so.....
i got the pirate last christmas i think he is great , moved left to right lift his arm up with sword move his head eyes light up mouth moves and he is uge 6 ft over tall ....but i wont get to use him this year.
i also must say i like my old faithfull edwardian butler , on this version only the head and eyes move like he speaks from behond , but been working great for 5 years and everyone as an uneasy feeling passing him by because he is so simple they dont know what he is going to do.....
as for my third choice i would say the mad scientist or donna.
i also have the frankenstein that moves his arms and that his brain and heart light up but the singing part turns me off so i use him but without sound i built a background sountrack that plays in the lab .
i have no received my bride and quivering doorman yet so i hope they work well they seem like neat props too if you overpass the eye or mouth noise the bride seems to make but i dont mind.
now if i had money to buy more life size animation gemmy or not i would get the stirring witch, the life size caged skeleton they had a sam's club last year , the face ripper , the gothic bride(IF her head is also diffrent from the white bride)
now if your theme is a graveyard no specifics you might like donna for this theme.....i have the one from micheals last year in a less white robe ad has a light up pumpkin in her hand.
