Has anyone ever tried to hook their fog chiller to a soaker hose. I was wondering if this would even work. I thought it would help spread the fog around. Would the fog seep through all the tiny holes or are the holes to small? Would the fog even make it to the end of the hose? I also thought of using pvc with holes. Any experiences suggestions?

This is only my second year to use fog machines so I am kind of clueless.

    Thanks!

I'm going to throw in $6 or so for one of those black, flexible corrugated pipes at Lowes that already have the holes drilled in them. It's like... 4-6 inches in diameter and 8ft long or so.

Well the owner of that video says there was no ice used just block the end off some the smoke comes out the holes. I may have to give this a try.

In the comment section, the guy noted he did not use ice. He said he used a vei 950 fog machine and closed off one end of the hose.

I'm copying this from the comment section on youtube.....

"Low fog doesn't have as much to do with being cold but being more dense. The reason fog chillers work is because the cold makes the fog more dense thus it's heavier then air, causing it to be low. Plugging the end of the tube causes resistance and the fog has to compact before coming out the smaller holes. Granted, there was absolutely no wind when this was filmed. Wind breaks it all "

Thanks for the info guys. I need to drag the fog machine out right away. My boyfriend was extra excited when he saw it in my stuff when I moved in. He wanted me to leave it out so we could play with it all year, so it should be pretty easy to convince him to go ahead and try some of this stuff out!

This is exactly what I've done in the past.

I tried to get video of it earlier this spring to pos around here, and it would not stay close to the ground at all. My best guess at what is happening:

Around here, it regularly gets in the low 30's outside around October. this, coupled with the delay between fog cycles makes that tube act as a chiller. When I tried in the spring with it being 60 out, no chill effect occured.

So, I'ld suggest trying it out for yourself just before Halloween. I would imagine if push came to shove, some frozen water bottles shoved down the tube would turn it into a quick chiller in a pinch.
