Sorry if this was covered before, but today I was looking at a very thin cable, like what is on garage doors but much thinner, would that work instead of fishing line, I think it would hold up better, I was looking at some of the pully type things, and it looked like the cable would fit fine, but is it flexable enough? Any input appreciated!

Cable would probably be massive overkill for a FC set-up (unless the ghost is REALLY heavy!). I've used standard 50pd test fishing line for years without any problems at all. Plus it just flat disappears under blacklight, which might not be true with a cable arrangement. You don't want to use anything that would kill the 'free float' illusion.

For a FCG cable maybe overdoing things a bit, a light weight cable would be more suited to an Axeworthy set-up and even there might be a bit of over-kill. My FCG I use a heavey fishing line for 2-3 seasons now, and have had no problems whatsoever.

Personally, I like Firewire brand fishing line. It's charcoal black color, smaller diameter than regular fishing line at the same weight rating (which I think is tougher than their weight rating even), and does not have the line memory problems like regular fishing line.

It's been my go to line for fishing for years, wouldn't see why it wouldn't be for props as well.

I use nylon twine on mine, It rolls easy through the pullies and doesn't bind up. It's what I had lying around. I just paint it black and it hides real well.
