Does anyone know how to create waist-deep or knee-deep fog? I'm building a fog chiller, but I'm not all that certain that low-lying fog will be as fun. I think it would be better if TOT's had to wade through the fog. I assume that some sort of temperature control would have to be incorporated into the chiller to chill the fog only to a certain point.

Anyone have any experience with this? Recommendations? I'd like to be able to adjust the temperature/fog level.

I think you are asking too much unless you have a huge budget for a big time fog machine. Keeping fog on the ground is hard enough....keeping it waist deep would require a rather high output fog machine and once the fog starts to warm up, you would simply have a room full of fog. And I dont think it would take very long. It would be great if you could figure it out!

Will have to agree. If this is not for inside it would be almost impossible to do with out a Movie studio fog/chiller machine and they cost around $10,000.00. Any slight breeze and it is gone.

Perhaps a number of fog machines feeding into one cooler would produce enough fog.

As for chilling the fog - keep the distance through the chiller short, to keep the chilling to a minimum. That should keep the fog cool enough to sink, but hopefully not so cool as to be ground hugging.

I'll more than likely stick to making low-lying fog, but I figured it was worth a shot to see if anyone has ever done this. The area I was going to use it in is pretty small, and will be enclosed. But, with the TOTs coming in and out, it wouldn't last anyway. Oh well.

Partsman, that link does me no good, and I really don't need to sign up for another forum just to see some YouTube videos. I don't suppose you have a direct link to the videos on the YouTube site?

You might try to use the same technique that they use on those store coolers. Have the fog come out on one side of the room at the height you want and in a tube with holes. then directly across the room at the same height have the same type of tube that has a vacuum on it so it sucks the fog across the room. I don't know if this will work and you would not have deep fog but just a layer of fog at the level you choose giving the impression of deep fog.

The only way I could see this happening is if you could get the room temp cooler then the floor. This way the fog might just hang on the floor I think.
