Thread: started the pipe organ

my husband and i started on the pipes for the organ today , tomorow hoping to cut an angle at top of pipes then paint the pipes and wood slot behind that hold the pipes, then glue the pipes in place .

Looks good. Please post more pics of his organ. Do you have a creature that will be playing or is it going to be one of you? I take it that the piano does work. Looks very nice even without the pipes and, very heavy!

I think I'm more jealous that you and your hubby work together on Halloween 'stuff'.

What I wouldn't give to have my wife participate... sigh.

Growler it is an old organ that works with 2 pedals , you need to pedal to get air to get the note to have some sounds .....

well the plan is to TRY and make a frame around where the organ is going to be in the house(living room corner) and put up a flying crank ghost rig above and get a grim organist to play it and hide the frame with draps ....i'll have a cd player hidden .....we wore thinking of doing the bride and groom inside the house this year so the music played would be a haunted wedding march music i used last year but thats not a final decision yet ,pipes are gonna be a gold copper color , i dont think i'll be able to get the final color on them tomorow as i have to use a base coat since it is plastic i couldnt find gold plastic paint ....

you know he wasnt always like this but he gets that halloween and that type of stuff makes me happy so he doesnt complain much he just complains ALOT about all the room it takes to store everything hehehe ......and he thinks he is not very good at building stuff and gets nervous and a little moody because of that so it is not always FUN to work with him but the more he builds stuff the more fun it is and he is happy of what he built after when he looks at the final project ....
