Instead of hacking a keyboard, have you considered an ultimarc i-pac? This board plugs in just like a keyboard, but gives you contacts to connect up your devices. Plus, it will happily co-exist with a regular keyboard on your system.

Well thats why I got the KEY- Wiz..... so I wouldn't have to hack the keyboard.....
I just don't know for sure how to use it.

Plug it in. Short the common line against the input line you want to see triggered. The letter corresponding to the input line will be sent to the computer as if you typed it on the keyboard. From there, it depends upon your application set up as to what that key does. Key-wiz comes pre-programmed with the standard MAME keyboard layout. If you need to re-map it, you can do it with their included software. I can't see a need to do that, unless the key you want to trigger isn't included in their standard MAME map.

I guess I can use auto macro recorder to record the keystroke to make keywiz work....
Well, I don't know how to use that either..... any help out there ?
All I need to do...... is assign a key to simulate the key strokes of ALT X and enter....
