If you ever been to the haunted mansion in Disneyland then you know the grave yard sceen where the ghost are coming out of the graves and heading towards the sky. So I made a flash movie that i'm gonna project on a big sheet in the yard to try and reproduce this. My other option is to make ghost cut outs and put them on a sheet or something that can be put on two rods and turned by a motor.

Here's my flash video 1 with no back ground and 1 with a back ground.

The flash looks great! Another method to accomplish what you're looking for is to use a small projector and a mirror ball (pretty much how Disney does it), just project a slide of a ghost image on a motor driven mirror ball and reflect them to a dark background.

I've always wanted to do this effect. Can you explain in a little more detail for the mechanically challenged? Thank you!!

    Pandora--it's like this:

    Projected Ghosts

Or you can do like me and use a store bought one. They sell them around Christmas.

I think it's wild how we all think alike sometimes!!

I also love that effect so I'm actively searching for an LCD projector to accomplish the same thing. I'm not adept in the ways of Flash (nor do I have time really) so I'm thinking of looping particular bits of "Night on Bald Mountain" from Fantasia (I love the look... very whispy and spooky ghosts rising from the grave)! Then project that on the front of my townhouse (I really don't have any other option LOL). Mind you I can maybe turn my carport into part of the cemetery and project it on the side wall... hmmm...

Good luck to everyone trying this one this year. Maybe we can start a thread in november showing video of all our rising ghost triumphs!!!

Now just to find a projector for the night with little to no budget! :OP
"Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"

"Your body's dying. Pay no attention, it happens to all of us!"

    You mean like this

And to finding a cheap projector, try your local colleges or computer surplus stores, craigslist or even freecycle. I've been able to score (working!) lcd projectors as low as $10 to $35
