I was at ours yesterday and saw them. I was actually thinking, Dang, these have gotten expensive. Only 4 years ago they were $8 at Big Lots.
They had some other neat stuff, though most wasn't out yet. But they had the setup photo references for the stockers taped to most shelves, so I got a good preview.

Nothing here at the Big Lots in Springfield, IL yet...but hopefully getting close. I wasn't thrilled with our Big Lots last year though.

Big lots has absolutely gotten more expensive over that past few years. I used to get resin and ceramic skulls there just a few years ago for like $4.00.

You know, for all BL advertises about close outs, some prices are higher than walmarts...of course, I've noticed Goodwill and our other thrift stores seem to have a similar problem.
Anyone of these...if I can get it cheaper or new for same price at Wallyworld-YOU ARE CHARGING 50% TOO MUCH.
I did see some good stuff coming at BL, the Skull and Raven bust caught my eye, but I really can't justify much more..I'm bursting at the seams on storage and knick knack space.
We are generally using homemade props and live actors anyway, the storebought is cheesing us up too much. As I go through more of my boxes this year I will probably begin selling off things.
Incidentally, not the right thread, but after Halloween this year I can definitely say we will be selling off a moving electric chair prop. We always change our scenes, so I have no plans for it after this year, and its too big to store another year. Just throwing it out there...pick up in Nashville TN, or around. Anyone interested, make note and leave some budget for after...*G*

Just more echo, BL has really gone too commerical and way-high prices in the last 2-3 years. It used to be one of my regular stops, now I may only glance in twice before HDay.

I agree with granamyr that there is a boom of commerical 'props' these days. And when you mix them in with homemade stuff, the 'plastic-effect' really shows through.

    $14 Blucky's is an abomination.
