This year due to health reasons I will be scaling back my decorations. I'm hoping to have a big seasonal garage sale and unload the stuff won't need, (trust me there's alot of it) How close to the big day should I have it? I'm in Houston TX so weather isn't an issue for me.
My garage is bursting at the seams. I'm a horrible pack rat.

You can do a few garage sales. What we do , is putting up signs that say " Halloween yard sale " , so that way , you'll only have people coming by that actually like halloween and decorating.
We had great success in the past years with ours. People even want to buy stuff you're not selling . Also had some people over that own stores that are willing to buy a few props they can sell.
Anyway , I'd do a garage sale maybe once a month starting from now.
Lots of stores are putting out their halloween stuff too so you won't be " too early " to sell yours.

Can't do it that way, Home Owners Association restricts the number of sales you can have to avoid that flea market look. Thanks, though

Sorry to hear about your health issues.
You could put an ad on craigslist for the sell to get more traffic at your sell.I don't mean to alarm you but your insides look very Halloweeny.

Also I hope you get better soon too.

I would look for an eBay store in your area. You have to give them a percentage, but you will get much more money and they will deal with shipping issues.
Yard sales just aren't worth the stress. No one wants to pay ANYTHING.

i'm so sorry about your health problems - I hope things improve for you soon.
I would think for the general populace, the beginning of October would be best to get lots of interest in Halloween items.
Could you let us Houston haunters know if you do plan to sell any Halloween stuff?
I'm on the NW side. I'd give stuff a good home.

I am in NW Houston too. What types of decor are we talking about? I don't wish to be taking advantage of anyone having to part with Halloween stuff before they planned...but could not bear the thought of your stuff going to a 'yard sale'.

Well Houston Haunters, the big sale is this weekend 08-23, I hope to be able to park my car in the garage after the sale, it's never been in the garage, I hope it isn't scared. Please pm me for directions.
