    Yes, they work wonderfully.

They have to be plugged into the wall directly, but they can support up to 500 watts, and you can plug a power strip into the unit that can have several lamps/lights plugged into that - as long as it doesn't exceed the 500 watt load. You can't use florescent lights only incandescent bulbs/flood lights, but that's not a huge deal for the most part.

They can be set in front of a speaker/sound source and work off of that, or you can get a direct line to plug into it (audio in jack) so it hooks directly to a stereo.

It has a dial to adjust the sensitivity - less sensitive for less flicker, more for LOTS of flicker.

I have 5 of these things---they work really well as Frankie's Girl already stated. You can't beat it for the price.

To those who have one, does it flicker on punctuated sounds or what kind of sounds would trigger it (the beat, maybe)? Will it flicker when someone sings?

If so, this might be the equivalent of a poor man's light-o-rama.

It's adjustable in sensitivity, so it can be set to only flicker to really loud/bass or dialed up to flicker at ANY sound - singing included. It really is a great little effect for the price.

Very interesting! Unfortunately, there is something in Germany. And import is too expensive ... because you have to know someone who sends it over.
