Hey all, I need help with prop controlling. I have 4 maybe 5 pneumatics this year and I really did'nt want to use pir's due to the little ones. I don't want to freak them out. I have tryed several remote controllers from cieling fan remotes to Intermatic home systems. Here is the problem, the on select time is to long when you select on there is a 2 second pause before activation in the device you activate. I am unsure if this is normal but when you select off it triggers right away. With most of these remotes it seems like the way of operation. I don't know if fright ideas remote trigger is any faster and it is limited to only 4 zones. If anyone has any input to problem, please feel free to let me know or if you have a better solution to my prop control. Thanks all

How far away are you from the props you want to trigger?
Do you stay in one spot when triggering these props?
Maybe this would work. 10 Channel - 2 Wire Remote control
If you move around your haunt and want a wireless remote that works better, maybe this. Infrared Remote Relay board and Remote 12 Channel
or this Auto Roll 10 Channel RF Remote ControlI don't want to just scare them... I want to mess them up for life!

Spookineer,
Probably a great product but not very patient in soldering. That comes as a kit to assemble.

Soldering is a skill you'll need to learn if you want automation or animation in your haunt eventualy.
In the meantime maybe this would work for you.

With Exorcist you could run the haunt in fully auto using PIR's, and use a remote to set different levels of scare, i.e. if you have small tots entering you would use the remote to turn the props to a mode where they don't automatically jump out, and when an older group enters you switch it back onto fully auto mode.
Different modes could include different sound scripts and lighting scheams.
You could even use the same remote to manually trigger the props in a manual mode.
response time is normally within 0.1 seconds, but you could tune this down using timers if required.

you could use pir sensors in a combo with a wireless relay board, you would connect the pir through the normally closed part of the relay so that when you press the button on the remote it would de-activate the motion sensor. that way all your props could run them selves with out the 2 sec delay and when a little one came through you could press the button and just turn them off.

You might want to chect this out from Vile Things. It is one that I will be making this year. you can have up to 6 props run on auto and 6 by remote.
