I want to big with my lights this year and my friend said I could use his 6 work lights that he uses for his band at shows. Problem is he only has a manual light controller and I don't really want to spend all night manually strobing lights, is there any thing that will do it eltronicly or should I just invest in a few actual strobe lights?

Instead of worrying about that i would invest in some strobe lights i dunno how powerful strobe you want but i use 4 20 watt mini strobes in my house and they are over kill sometimes and our house isnt small. Can be had reasonable price at 13-16 dollars depending on wattage. The xenon 20 watts is at partsexpress for 16 and the 35 watt chauvet mini strobes there are had for 13. If looking for something bigger let me know i can beat some prices out there.

if you are looking to do lightning simulations, you should read this thread:
Great deal on Lightning/Thunder box!
It starts off about purchasing the lightning box, but towards the end of the 2nd page there is a lot of good info on bulbs and whatnot.- Brad

No - Probally Not good for constant strobing.
If you are looking at constant strobing, you should probally buy strobe lights and get the ones that you can link together so they strobe at the same time.- Brad
