Here is the story. A bedroom is going to be the "The Birds" room. One window in the room. this will be boarded up with birds breaking into the room. Birds all over. Bird CD playing body in bed with eye's pecked out. I have a dresser with a nice mirror. How to I get a pattern of a broken mirror. I need to draw with a white or black marker or greasy pencil on the mirror so it looks broken. Like birds have bashed into it. Any idea's![]()

MHooch,
We must read the same magazines. I got the idea from Special Edition Halloween Magazine. I had seen the broken glass prop with baseballs and golf ball ect. But I did not know they had a rock one. If I take the rock out and put a bird in I think that will work. I orders a few. I guess I will need to put some of the smaller bird in it. So the weight won't pull the cracked film off. I try to stay away from the film mirror stuff. I am still trying to get some of that stuff out of hair from last year when I made a light weight mirror. I made it easy enough but only on the second go round. There are some days I can breeze by those kinds of crafts and then there are days I should have stayed in bed. Last year I should have stayed in bed the whole year.

Check an art store for a Stabilo, it's a "grease" pencil. I use them to hand draw out basic lines on cars & stuff when i airbrush artwork & pinstrip on them. & i definitely can't use something that work damage or not be removable on some of the custom car or Harley paint jobs that i have to paint on !
They are cheap ( $1.00 or so per ) & will wipe off with a rag & water, will not stain glass. Now that you mention what you use it for, i paint pics on framed mirrors & trace out a basic pattern to follow & it does look like cracks if done right, I'll have to keep that in mind when i do the haunted childs room, thanx for the idea. When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........

skullie your welcome , i tought i wasnt very helpfull but it might work , if the room isnt really bright you can use pieces of broken mirrors too glues with something non permenent on your actual dresser mirror , but then again if your supersticious like me dont go breaking a mirror to try that LOL

use the fake broken window thingy. Take the rock, hockey puck (what ever) out. The cut one of the fake birds in half and glue it to the cling. Just have the tail end sticking out, like the bird is lodged in the mirror...I think that is a riot.
This site never ceases to amaze me. Some of the best creations are found here! What visuals! Love it.Spectorized
