anyone ever use tempra paint for painting windows? My pan is to pant all the windows black the etch designs into the paint. How hard is this to get off?

You should be able to scape it off with a putty knife. Then wash it down after wards. You'll have to be real careful etching. This stuff tends to crack/flake off. Another Idea is to take black paper, cut your design into it and hang that. clean up will be a lot easier and less chance of messing it up.

Tempra paint will not adhere or dry evenly to glass. You will get mostly streaky water, and if you actually do goop the paint on thick enough to stay put, it will dry in flakes and fall off at the slightest wind. The clean up will be MESSY too - using a hose to try to knock it all down and off all the brick/siding without staining would be a miracle.
You could try the glass markers or shoe polish for a temporary solution, but it will not be completely solid - more transparent/translucent like privacy glass.
Using paper is the best temporary solution for opaque (non see through/complete light blocking) - I really couldn't imagine using any sort of paint. You can get large rolls of paper at a teacher supply store in many colors; like what they use for bulletin board backing.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

It won't be completely opaque, but if you mix tempra paints with dish soap (I can't remember exactly the proportions...I think 3 paint to 1 soap) it washes right off so easily. And we didn't have any issues with flaking. We used it a X-mas to paint a scene on our windows.
TO remove the paint, you're better off using masking tape first to mark the areas on which you dont want paint, then pulling the tape up while the paint is still damp (but not wet where it runs). If you wait until it's totally dry, you will chip some of the edges.

you can buy rolls of black kraft paper at Michaels. Reasonably priced.
No one can make you do anything you don't want to do, right?
