    That's ridiculous. There's no need for an explosion-proof sensor, and that price is amazingly high. I can't see any use for this device in any haunt - spend the money on a good prop and a reliable IR detector. Maybe it's a spoof...

    Just to be clear on what explosion proof means here, its not referring to the sensors ability to survive a nuclear blast, but rather to its ability to be located in an environment where there is a risk of explosion and you don't want a dodgy electronic device arcing out and setting the whole lot of.

    Typically these would be used in sawmills, flour mills, fuel stations, chemical plants etc.

    I'm really not sure what use they are in a haunted house, as if there was any explosion risk then you would be expected to remove the risk, and not fit sensors that wont set the whole lot off!.
