We decided to go the lazy route with the walls after all. We were threading some actual grasses and sticks through the wire, but when the table skirts went on sale for $4 at JoAnn's, I just decided to hit the easy button.
Kyle standing by his work...(he'll be the headhunter, too)
We bought a 9' umbrella frame and glued scrap cloth to it for the roof. We were trying to glue some grass to it for the roof, but have abandoned that idea, and will instead be making panels of grass with duct tape to toss up there on Halloween. Could sew on some more table skirts, but I want the roof to look a bit different than the wall.

For folks who may be inspired by this great post - PartyCity has their hula skirts on sale. They also have two different thatch 'roofs'. One large 9' that sits on top of your existing umbrella and another smaller unit that is its own umbrella and post. I think both are $15. The skirts are about $5.
These also may be close to going on clearance pricing as more Halloween inventory moves in.
If you are in Houston, Arnie's Warehouse has same hula skirts for about $4.

I really like this and may steal the idea for my luau next year. I already have a 10x10 EZ up canopy that could easily be covered with the table skirts and umbrella cover.

Very cool idea... Now all you need to do is make a blow dart shooting skeleton!!!
