I am currently waiting on the Brookshire VSA group buy and I already have a lynxmotion ssc-32 and I have several animated lighting control boxes, as well as their Animation Director Software.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has every used these things together.

Can you control (has anyone) an Animated Lighting regular (non-dmx) lighting control box with VSA, or has anyone used Animation director to control an SSC-32?

I would love to be able to program the halloween show all from one piece of software.

I'm using VSA to control a 750W strobe for lightning, but it's attached to a DMX control deck. Lynxmotion sells relays that connect to the SSC-32 so you could do it that way...

Sounds like you want a servo controller to control a lighting controller. Unfortunately VSA only supports a limited number of lighting controllers (DMX). Other than using servo ports up for individual on/off light relays as EB mentioned (no dimming). VSA really needs an update anyway, it's GUI is dated and it's support of other devices is very limited. There is still no documentation for the current version, let alone a decent user forum (except for here, good thing we have some sharp people to figure things out)

After using VSA for some time now, I really like what I'm seeing over at Buffington Effects in their product development Buffington Effects - Animatronics, robotics, and control products

    Competition is a good thing

here is one way, you can hack a keyboard and connect it to the animated lighting relay board, you could then have the the animated lighting software trigger vsa which would control the ssc-32

Thanx for the link, getting my feet wet with animation control & components for control. Read about vsa & prop1-2 & parallex stamps, lynx ssc, etc. Swimming thru the info & perosnal preferences, seemed like 50/50 on most of it. Now ya give me another option of info, thanx ! ....LOL but seriously thank you for the link. I am about to dive into a 3 axis skull project soon with lynx ssc & Brookshire vsa (group buy) but still quandering my options for lowest possible cost, simplicity, expanding equipt, stand alone & pc systems. These guys at buffington now have my attention. & they're prices seem reasonable, need to study them more......ok another cup of java !
