This year for my home haunt I have decided to make to entrance pillars for my graveyard. They will be made out of wood and foam. I am currently looking for a wall mounted lanterns (Like the ones you see on front porches on either side of the door) that are battery operated. Also, I noticed they have solar powered ones, What does that do charge then turns on when it gets darker?
Thanks!

I would do a search for battery operated sconces. You might have better luck. I know there are several flameless candle sconces out there.
Concerning solar, remember we have the unfortunate circumstance of having daylight savings time not end until AFTER Halloween. Depending where you live, you might have a very bright Halloween this year.

The lights they are using in solar tend to be LEDs which I think give a blue glow rather than a warm orange type glow that I picture with lanterns.
Have you thought about making lanterns and adding a large battery powered flicker candle?

I actaully found some ealier this month at Lowes. Thay are cataully battery operated lawn/malabu lights, they look like little lanterns that sit on top of a 1 ft or so pole spike to stick it in the ground. The pole screws in, so you can just disgaurd it. There is a ring at the top you could use to hang them, which is what I plan to due. They run on 2 D batterys and were on clearance for less than $5 a piece. The bonus is they have a flickeing candel affect and have a photo sensor.
Here is a link to somone selling them on ebay.

Lowes website does not show them. Like I said they were on clearnce, so check the lawn lighting dept. of your local store. Happy haunting!
