Here are two chalices I made to go with the treasure chest.
I got the, second platter, and chalice at a thrift store for $5.
The Gold nuggets are lava rocks painted with Krylon metallic gold spray paint.
The "cherry on top" was bought at Michaels

I saw those big glass gemstones in Michaels the other day. I kind of wanted one, but couldn't figure out what to do with it...

Those look great! I never would have thought to spray paint lava rocks, but they sure do look convincing! I need those chalices for my pirate lounge.

Dang you guys are making me want to do a pirate theme and it doesn't fit with all my other props! Making all the treasure props looks like fun and I have chests and barrels just sitting around...maybe next year

Me too! I am SO wanting to do a pirate theme now, but I don't have the time/money this year. And next year I don't get Halloween, so hopefully in 2010 I get to do it!!! YAR!

They are clear stones(?) that I bought at Wal Mart. They are used for plants in a vase or whatever.
I used two bags for the first on and a simgle bag for the second, they were $1.88 each.

I really like the way lava rocks turned out, I just tried painting stuff in my yard and these looked the best.
Also, I used both Krylon and Rustolium and fro my money the Krylon has a better color (and was a $1 cheaper) of gold.
