I remember seeing a post about a wire frame crow whose beak moves and it flaps its wings. The crow had a string of lights attached to the wire frame. Does anybody know where I can find this or any other type of animated crow?

You can build a crow pretty easy. Michaels or Big Lots sells the feather crow. Do not use plastic. Pick up a doll that extends out her arms. You can pick these up fairly cheap at Big Lots and the like ($15). Now for the gruesome part, tear out the guts of the doll and insert them into the crow. You will have to make some modifications to the wings so they work off the motor arms that were once in the doll.

For beak movement you can do several things... what we did, when then the arm moved, we had a wire hooked up that would pull the beak down and when the arm moved back, it closed by spring.

If I have time this week, I will take a few pictures of the crow to give you an idea of what they look like.

For a really errie effect, add RED LED for the crows eyes!

We had fun building three of these and we knocked them out in about two hours.

Strange, I kept having vision of the twilight episode where the doll says to the man, "... I am going to kill you!" Just not right to destroy a doll... I am waiting for the crow to say, "... I am going to kill you - you doll destroyer rat *&u*(#^#^@.

    Time for my medication!

Movement of the wings can be done by a trigger or sensor. Pretty straight forward.

That was on ABC Distributing's web site, but it's been taken down. I called to see if it was still available and they said it may come back, but they don't know when. Here's the home page link -

    abc distributing ® - Home

click Shop Online and look in New and Exciting. There's a few Halloween items in there now.
    I...have many names...
