First, as much as I love Halloween, I've still never managed to build a prop. Someday, I hope to, but it's something to keep in mind.
We've cleaned out and sorted my dad's garage (he passed away last year). The barn up north is next. Once the house here sells, we HAVE to get the garage empty. I don't have a lot of room, but I keep leaning toward keeping a bunch of the tools/equipment.
The large Craftsman air compressor (first few pics here) w/ a few tools (angle grinder, etc.) is the biggest issue. It's HEAVY and we really don't have room for it. But... if I want to do pneumatic props someday, I'll need it, right? There's an even bigger one in the barn, but the Craftsman is more durable.
I keep finding myself relieved that it didn't sell, LOL. I don't think anyone will notice or care if I snag whatever tabletop power tools are left.

You could always sell it along with what ever else you don't want or need and then take the $$$ and buy a new but smaller one! Personally I like the smaller compressors say a 6 gal pancake type or a contractor one, there small and can be carried fairly easily. If you only going to run a few numatic props you don't need a huge compressor, it will run more but you could add an extra tank if needed. More is not always better.

I'm a recovering packrat (seriously, OCD and it runs in my family) so believe me when I tell you that getting rid of something that you don't have an immediate use for is A GOOD THING. (and you have no idea how painful it is for me to do that sort of thing, but I am doing it)
Scaresburg's suggestion is perfect. Unless the items are unavailable now, or of sentimental value, sell them off. You can always get compressors and tools like that sort of thing, and it is less junk taking up space that *might* be used someday.
If you had lots of room, I'd say keep some of the stuff, but as space is an issue, sell it.

Thanks, all. I appreciate the input. Knowing now that it's really too much equipment for what I might want to do, I feel far less conflicted about selling it. Still have to find a buyer, but I won't be sad about it anymore!

Find a buyer on CraigsList or eBay. CraigsList would be better as it's local only, ye wont sell/ship to someone in Kookamonga..
