One of my projects that I am going to do this year is an ice chest that is in the shape of a coffin. Basically I want to build one that will have two sections, the top or head area will open to have high ball set ups and the lower will be for beer. I also want to put some type of decorations on the front , like skulls, and have fog come out of them.
I have looked for any other set ups like this and have not come across any. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I have not even started building yet but am looking for some ideas on how to do this. I figure the inside shoud be fibreglass to make it water tight and so I can run hoses around for the fog.
Any ideas to help would be great of if you know of someone that has one on the net would be a great help.
    Thanks

You could build it out of plwood, and insulate it with 2" foam on the insde.
caulk all the joints and add a drain hose.

I used foam to line a crate I made for use in a fogging MIAB static prop I used to have.
Lasted all night and the next day in the Florida sun.

    now...enter the realm of Noremose

That would work good. Yea that way I could grove out a channel for the fog to go through.
    Thanks

Very nice, did you use styrofoam on the inside?

Yes. 1 x 12 sides and 1/2" plywood top and bottom. Insulation is 3/4" pink foam board. He caulked the inside as well.

i have one, looks almost like yours. Used foam scavenged from packing material and lined with black sheet plastic. kept the beer cold for a week.
No one can make you do anything you don't want to do, right?

I made a mine-cart ice chest last year. They were just painted styrofoam coolers you get at the store (previous owners of my house left two here). They aren't really the shape of a traditional coffin, but COULD be used as several separate coffin... again - not realistic as far as size and shape.

Anyway, I lined the inside (because it was white), with a black garbage bag (using double-side tape). Filled with ice. At the bottom I put a couple of those LED lights you use for under cabinets (sealed in ziplocs). The idea was a mine cart (black bags gave the 'coal' effect and the ice with the blue LED looked like diamonds).

I'm not sure any of that will help, but thought I'd throw it in.

I can still remember the parties my parents used to have when I was a wee TOTer... My Grandfather owned a casket company in Ohio, so my folks used to get one or two to use. One was lined with plastic and used as a cooler, the other was for someone to lie inside to wait for hapless TOTers to come up to the porch. Talk about a scream!!

Wish I had a few of those babies now! (Grandfather passed young so the family sold the business.)
