Does anyone know how to make these type of lanterns or where to buy them? I have seen them called cargo and crew candle lantern.

If you visit your local lowe's right now they have some tea candle lights that look very much like those. You woud have to wire them and they are a bit pricey already...25-35.00ea. they are in the seasoal section of the store.

Garden Ridge had the ones in the third picture. Not sure if they still do, though.

Hey I got a solar powered lantern that looks just like those at the Krogres for around $35.00. The light doesn't last but 2 or more hours after dusk though.

Looks like you could make these for cheaper than buying the solar ones. I've got 3 empty coffee cans that could easily be converted. Though, I do like the narrower ones better. Good idea though.

Check craft stores. I've bought a couple lanterns like that at JoAnn's this time of year. They're on clearance for about $6 right now, but they're fairly small (tea-candle sized). I have one that's a bit bigger from last year that's a bit larger that I got for about $10 last year. Check the craft stores for their "summer clearance". You might find something that will work.

Bought some tea light versions from an IKEA store for $3 last year. Battery operated tea light, presto.

Big lots has them. I bought several "railroad" lanterns and morrocan lanterns there.
Google Morrocan lanterns. Ebay, Amazon, and Overstock have them. Most around $12 a piece.
