I had the face printed on a large poster printer (luckily my husband works and a print shop, so I get my prints at a very reduced price, if not free), then put it behind plexiglass and shined a small christmas village light from the inside.
The hands are cut from paper and I got the hour hand glued down and the minute hand is glued to the reindeer motor. I have to turn the motor off and on a couple times to get it to run backwards.
I've got to look for that sound. Where did you find yours?

There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

Yeah, sort of. The hand is actually a moving image that is projected on the clock and spills over onto the wall behind (this is the case for the DisneyWorld H.M...I am not sure about the west coast version).Isn't the skeleton hand shadow actually on the wall that the clock is standing against?
*note - I tried to find a good image of this online, but I guess it is too dark for anyone to get a good picture.

Hi. Love your clock. You mentioned you had to turn the reindeer motor on and off a few times to get it to run backwards. I have a gold reindeer motor and I can't figure out how to make it run backwards. Was there anything else you did or is there a specific reindeer motor that does run counter clockwise?
Thanks

That is absolutely amazing. I have vacuum boxes in the garage (hopefully still there). Would you be at all willing to put together a tutorial for how to make this? At least just the basics?

I'm blown away by this project and the fact that it had such humble beginnings. I'd love a tutorial if one can put one together explaining things a bit more. I thought your photos were great. But tips on the motor and carving and clock face would be welcomed.
And BTW this thread is from 2008!!! A rash of new comments but wonder if anyone is listening if you know what I mean.... Maureenpr love to hear from you again.

Awesome!! I'm running out of space in my room, but I've been itching to make a 13 hour Grandfather clock! Gotta make room! Think I'm going to make a Toe Pincher coffin and use it for a bed and that way I can get rid of my bed and free up some space.. Sounds good to me!
