So I made a big purchase today at Lowes. And I have to admit, if it wasnt for all my Halloween stuff/props, I wouldnt have had to purchase it. I spent over $3,000 On an outdoor Storage Shedto house all my current props and decorations as well as the newer ones im working on. Has anybody else run out of room for their Halloween stuff and gone out and made a purchase like this? Please say yes and tell me I'm not insane.

I've run out of room too. I lucked into a free storage shed on craigslist, but my garage is still full of Halloween stuff. I figured since I saved so much on the shed, I'd just pour my savings into new props.
I'd tell you you're not crazy, but I don't wanna lie to you.

Lead the way to crazytown. I have a shed in the backyard for yard stuff. 12 x 8 and another shed 12 X 20 that has become my "workshop" for Halloween and my (Ouija /Pendulumn projects- I sell them locally) .....Attic and garage are full. Would like to buy another shed and be able to house the Halloween stuff. But I live in a residentual neighborhood and if I put up another shed , it will look like I have a bunch of FEMA housing !
Enjoy your "space" while you can. I am sure it will be crammed full again soon !Today the Pond. Tomorrow The World!
All this has Happened Before and will Happen Again

Whew! Ok you guys are making me feel a little better now. FRENCHY I definatly know how you feel. Just about everytime I go in to Lowes or Home Depot I for something small or simple, I always come out with a new power tool or something to help my prop building go much faster and easier. Thanks again for the pick me up! :-)

I have to disagree with most of the other porst. You are crazy! if you were sane, you would be boring

I have almost 1/3 of my unfinishe basement with props and don't get me started with the garage. it has not seen a car in years! It is the designated all around starage/shop.
Lead the way to Crazytown was right cause there are several behind you

Well let's see, first the garage attic got full, so I got a storage shed. Then that got full so I added another shed three times the size of the first one. Then that got full and the truck lost it's parking space in the garage. Then the car got exiled, but the motorcycle refused to give up it's home. So we're moving to a bigger house with a second detached garage all on 3 acres. But now that I'm retired there will be more time for prop building so the 30x40 shop building is already in the plan.
A haunters storage facility is kind of like the Winchester Mystery House, it just keeps growing... Good luck Ken.I don't want to just scare them... I want to mess them up for life!

Oh MAN! I have GOT to forward this thread to my husband!!! Between the Lava lamp collection (200+) and the Halloween crap, I've completely taken over the basement. Worse yet, I've infringed upon his manly domain (the garage) to build this year's props!!

As I have said a few times on this forum...we built a dual purpose one. First I got a rubbermaid shed our 1st year to house what little we had...then it got full.
Then, since the tots walk thru our fenced yard, we wanted one area we could make dark. So we designed a Mausoleum with a front and rear door to double as a storage shed. On Halloween its a walk thru scene(with a loft, as the 1st use was the scare dropping from the ceiling). The doors are just plywood, removed for halloween, and put back up after each year.
But right now..the mausoleum is full, so is the toolshed(although its not all halloween). But now outside the sheds we have 2 lumber racks holding all the lumber I've collected for building walls and such(thanks freecycle), a casket and electric chair under a tarp, a corner full of mannequin parts and other junk for building props, and leaning against the maus, 18 wall panels and about 8 large pallets.
And at a friends, a animatronic cake shaker, a pneumatic coffin jumper, and a soon to be pipe organ.
Its sort of getting out of hand. I already said that soon I'm going to start leaving up the wall structures all year, except we change it each time.
After this year, I will probably try to clear out some unused stuff. Then I'll promptly find a use for it.
