Gonna try some of the expired latex from Cementex. My question is...do you need any hardener to go with it? I didn't think you did, but when I read the description on their site, it mentioned something about needing it.

I didn't see any "hardener" on their site for the Latex. Just a 'thickening agent'. The thickening agent is just a filler to allow you to get a thicker coat of latex on in one layer. Does not help cure it at all. Not needed, but might make a specific task quicker/easier.

I don't know if any one has mentioned this or not but if you can find a shop that sells model trains. You can get a bottle of Latex rubber for about $10.00 I have gotten out of date for less also. But If you are like me and want to get some now. Woodland Scenery is the brand name I think. They use it to make molds for miniture train sets. I think you can go to the woodland web site and see where they sell it in your area. I also use latex for makeing molds and I use hyrdocal for setting the molds. I also use it as a substatue for plaster paris. It drys much faster and is much much lighter in weight. Gets Damn hard too. Hyrocal comes in woodland scenery product also but I get a 50 pound bag for $20.00. USG puts it out. a plastering supply place or a drilling supply place should carry it. Welcome to Woodland Scenics! Home of everything for Model Railroad Scenery!
