I thought this thread might be helpful for the novices like myself who are taking the bold move to make a 3-axis skull.
I have finished assembling my skulls and have everything ready to go (I think).
I tried to play one of CaptnJackSparrow's VSA routines when I run into the following error:
"CDirectXUtils Error!
ConnectFilters pSrc-pF
No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection."
Any idea what this means???
Thank you in advance.

I think VSA requires DirectX9 or later to work. Do you have the latest DirectX drivers?

I checked my system and it's DirectX 10.

Also could be CaptJack is using an older version of VSA and his routines aren't capatable with the newer version of VSA. I know I had that problem.

VSA is backwards compatible with older VSA files, try deleting the sound file from the routine and see if it plays.
what format is the sound file WAV or MP3
can you play the soundfile from windows media player

I didn't see a sound file with it and on the Capt'n website, he has the sound file separate.

there should be a separate sound file, but from memory when the sound file cant be found then the routine should still play... but you get a warning about the missing sound file and an opportunity to find it.

Just started playing with VSA again today. Eureka! I understand how to use the stupid thing! Well, I'm off to drink beer and program my skull to smart off.
