Anyone know about low visibilty green fishing line? I am trying to find out if it can be seen under a black light for the use of a FCG. I just ordered a rig from Pugsly and wanted to see if any of you have used this string outside and how it works. Give me your feedback.

I would say no. I used some low visibilty green fishing line last year to raise and lower the skull head in my graveyard quartet.
I had a 48" blacklight florecent bulb aimed right at it and it did not show.
Other times I have used regular fishing line and just sprayed it with flat black spray paint and it was hidden from the blacklight, but in a rig that will be moving like an FCG, the paint may crack and peel off the line, so I guess that's out.

Hey Bob,
Any ideas besides painting the fishing line?

I have had line that doesn't glow, but it does catch the light sometimes and is visible. So I would check it out with a blacklight before buying.

I use fishing line for my FCG that doesn't glow. It's the regular white/clear type. I'm not sure now what brand it is, though. Try taking one of those little hand-held battery-operated black lights into the store with you anc check to see which lines glow and which lines don't.

I use the black braided dacron line. It's more expensive but its extremely tough and has proven to be very abrasion resistant so far. Very flexible and easy to knot too.

Like a previous post I used a clear fishing line which I sprayed with Flat Black paint and cit ompletely disappears. I went with clear line really only because I already had a 330yd spool of it (17pound test). My FCG is run outside (with the crank 12' up in a tree ) is not enclosed in a crypt or anything and the ToT's are forced to walk right past her....I am in a stalker costume closeby and can hear the kids and parents trying to figure out how she is moving so I know noone sees the painted lines (no flaking of the paint so far - 2 years). For a cheap alternative this should work for you.

You could also color the fishing line using a Sharpie marker. I've used this for coloring dolls hair in customs and it works very well, seems permanent and doesn't flake. Not sure if it would actually work on fishing line, since i've never tried it, but it seems logical to me that it would work.

I use the moss green spiderwire for my axworthy ghost, which passes through many 48" fluorescent lights and remains quite invisible. Love the stuff, even during the day it can be hard to spot, and very, very strong. I highly recommend it
