I'm about to put in my order for beef netting and I don't have a clue how much I should buy since it sells by the pound.
I'm thinking about using it as the sails of my pirate ship, as well as spiderwebs throughout my display.
Also, can it be bleached for blacklights?
Thanks so much!

This site says 8yds/lb.
Beef Netting Used for Knotts Berry Farm Spider Web
If you check this link it looks like they have a black light on it. Not sure if you have to bleach it or not.

I bought beef netting from Trenton Mills last year. They are super nice and they even send the product to you and you pay after you receive it. I ended up buying a 10 pound roll because I wasn't sure how much to buy either. Well 10 lbs is a ton! I don't think I even used 1/4 of it. But hey I think I have enough to last me for a long time.
As for dying it they best way I found was to use Rit Dye. I think I got mine at either Wal-Mart or Target. It comes in a little 8 oz bottle. Just mix it to the amount stated on the bottle with water. I did mine in our laundry room sink since its one of those really deep sinks. Then I added my fabric and let it sit for 30 min or so. Next I rung out as much water as possible then put it in the dryer on low. After that I stuck it up on the house so it was real stretched out. Then I went with a really sharp xacto knife of razor blade and cut the holes in the fabric.
You can check out my blog (link in my sig below) for pictures. Go all the way to the bottom and I have pics from last years setup.
Hope that helps ya out!

Wow, the spiderwebs look fantastic! Thanks for the heads up, I almost bought 20lbs of the stuff today.

I'm guessing that you used white dye. I wonder if they have flourscent color dye. I know many people paint their fcg blue, to make it show up in the black light.

Jaime, your setup looks sharp! I used beef netting for the first time last year, but it didn't turn out as nicely as yours.
Great work!

I bought 2lbs two years ago and still have plenty to do this for a few more years

I was just wondering how many of you dye their netting? I just bought some and didn't expect the netting to be an off-white color, as it always looks bleach white when I visit Knott's. Maybe they dye theirs, or quite possibly I am mistaken. I suppose it's not a big deal either way, but I just have to know!

In any event, I'm excited to use this stuff this year!
