Does anybody have or know where I can get a track of bird sounds, like crows and ravens, etc. Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. what do you guys use for sound in your displays? MP3, CD players, complete $5,000 setups? just wondering.

These guys have some pretty good free sounds. For my yard haunt I use a 250 watt system for the soundscape. For local sounds, talking skulls etc - cheap MP3 players and computer speakers. Clean sound and easy to hide.

I use a PC with a 7.1 sound card, this gives me 8 sound channels that I can use individually or used multiple channels for a surround sound effect.
Also using the PC and Exorcist I can link the sounds to inputs so as people walk through and trigger various switches the system plays the sounds, and I use the same computer for controlling hte haunts lighting, pneumatic props and servo animatronics.

Hello,
How do you get the sounds off of the website onto your computer? When you click on it, it just opens up the sound clip.

Pending your system (windows or mac) on windows, right click on sound file you want to save & choose "save target as" will open a box for you to choose were you want to save it to on your pc.

hey Phoenix_UK, what software do you use to do the play back on each channel? a long time ago I used cakewalk. now i use multiple instances of winamp on 2 sound card, but thats a pain to setup and i only get 4 channels out of it.
the winamp setup i figured out is actually not too bad. I had to come up with it after tripping a breaker a few times and having to setup all the sound effects again. I have winamp install 4 times in 4 different directorys. that give me 4 channels. the nice thing it all i have to do it launch each winamp install and it remembers the setting it had last time it ran. here a shot of it.Randell Kelly

My methodology is to mix the sound file as a 7.1 sound file and then play it over Windows Media Player.
to mix the sound files I use a program of my own which can be downloaded from here
