Never too early to start right?

At least when you have a fairly ambitious project anyway.

I use animated lighting controlers and software to run my christmas and halloween shows, and this year I wanted to have a band, two guitar players, one drummer and two double axis singing skulls. I have build the first guitar which is a hand mounted on a servo on a kids bratz guitar. The staging and some decals and paint will deal with the pink colour later. Here is the first piece of my band....

That's a really cool prop. I like the movement of the hand. Sounds like a great project.
Did you use Keith Richards as the model for the skeleton hand?

    Too Early????

You mean it's already almost June and you're just starting???

Looks like a VERY Cool project. I love the hand. I would love to add instruments to my quartet (My new one, that is) but every song I use has different instrumentation, so it's not so easy.

I guess the band will remain hidden and just the singers will be visible......

WAIT A MINUTE!!! that just gave me an idea. What if I had my singing quartet out front with some kind of scrim or rear projection screen behind them. I could add a projection of CGI skeletons playing the instuments in the background. Maybe just shilloetts (however you spell that) The band could change for each number.

Now all I need to do is learn how to make CGI's...how to sync them up to my existing routines in VSA....buy a projector..... get a lot more space...buy a screen....

I should have started this last November!

    Back to reality....

I can't wait top see the rest of the band. That's a great concept.

Looks cool...the only suggestion I would make, having played the guitar, is have the hand move to each chord strum on the down stroke. It would look more realistic. even if you don't, it looks awesome! Can't wait to see the finished piece.

very cool. For the drummer I would go pneumatics though, as Ive been thinking bout this for a while and that seems the best way to get a stable and larger movement. Keep us posted!
