I was looking through my collection of Halloween related songs to see what new routines I can do for a Graveyard Quartet.

Thanks to Gym Ghost, I will have a quartet again this year, even though I had to sell mine last year.

Anyway, I want to use the song, "Swingin' At The Seance". I have a copy, but there are two problems. First is the quality of the recording. It was done in 1941 I believe and in my opinion, the quality is too poor to use. Hard to clearly understand some of the words.

The other problem is that it is sung by a girl soloist which gives nothing for the other three members of my quartet to do.

While searching around for a cleaner version I came across a group called the "Moon Rays". They are releasing a new album of all Halloween songs from that era and of course the quality is perfect. They remain true to the original arrangements and the voices are fantastic. The album comes out June 1st 2008.

Go here to see what's up: store

You can also pre-order it from Amazon.com

Here's the challenge part. I know there are some of you on these boards that have great singing voices. I only need male voices for this. I could even add one myself, but I'm not that good at it. In my YouTube video for my Graveyard Rock routine I added the Bass voice and in my Halloween Carols video I do all the male voices, but I have a lot of trouble harmonizing. This song is so good, I want it to sound professional.

I need a male voice or two or three that can add their voices to the track right off the album when it comes out. Making up harmony parts to sing along with the girl voice. You can do multiple tracks and harmonize with yourself, do OOhs and Ahhs at appropriate times, that sort of stuff.

I will gladly make a routine available to you for helping out if you are using VSA. You can have a copy of this routine, or I'll make you a custom one if you are only running 1 or 2 skulls. Or perhaps there's something else I can do for you.

Anyway, we can discuss the technical aspects of this production if you think you are up for the job. I will gladly provide you with the software you will need to record the separate tracks. I'll even ship you a decent Microphone and mixer to use if you need one. I need good quality sound, not something from a computer mic input.

Let me know if you are able and interested. You would do the tracks by playing the song in a CD player into headphones, and recording your voice by itself on the computer. Then your track can be added to the original song, and you make that into a CD and do the process over again to create voice #2, then again for Voice # 3. I'll help with all the technical stuff.

For the ladies, I would love to add a female voice to a version of Zombie Jamboie so I can use all the members of my quartet for that.

If you don't know, my quartet consists of one lead singer (female) and 3 backup singers (male)

His original quartet is alive a very well, I was fortunate enough to get them. While i was estatic to get them, I felt bad at the same time...Getting to know Bob more, I no longer feel bad, he's brillant and has access to a fully equiped Shop to boot!

    Thank you buckaneerbabe!

    Troy, do you sing?

I will answer your question in your PM shortly. If you do sing, then we'll have to take a shot at it.

The album won't be out until June 1st, so we'll have to wait until then. I will be making use of my shop extensively this year I'm sure. I got a new job up here where I work now in Vermont. I have a full machine shop and wood shop as well as an electronics bench where I work that I can use any time. That's what Troy is referring to.

I saw your pics and well let's just say I'm sooo wanting to be your apprentice. I envy your decor, nothing like stating the day with a cup of coffee and skeletons all around you for inspiration.

Leave it to Bob to take lemons and make Mike's Hard Lemonade.

I saw you bought 6 skulls this year from RBC. What are you doing with the other two if you don't mind me being nosey?

I actually need 5 for my Quartet. I have the four characters and the one severed head that the middle backup singer lifts up. The 6th will just be a spare...You can never have too many skulls around.

You might get some practice as there are a lot of folks that are making animated skulls this year.
