I wanted to make a wishing well this year, but with a shortage of beaded styro-foam (trying not spend any money on any more, and I have no idea where to get it free) I was wondering if a squared wishing well would look alright, instead of the normal circled ones.![]()

Wouldn't a hexagon or octagon offer a happy medium?

You could still make it round. By going to any local lumber yard or ANY place that has scrap pieces of wood, you can create a circular well with planks of wood going vertical. Lay several scraps on the floor (varying sizes, lengths, types, etc), staple gun a rope along the top half and bottom half of the planks; roll it up to be a circle. Make a small 'roof' and poof.
Basically like what Litenin posted, but a bit more... old, rickety, and round.
