On someone's advise here (sorry, can't remember who) I went to Big Lots and found a distressed wood wagon wheel that I want to turn into the helm of a pirate ship. I plan to pose it with my Gemmy pirate captain at this years party, but I need help finding handles to attach to the outside of the wheel. Does anyone know where I can find approximately 6" (preferably decorative) handles or knobs to turn the wagon wheel into a steering wheel?

Also, is there a posable, life-size, latex skeleton that anyone is familiar with that they can recommend? I'd basically like to set up the POTC skeleton as pictured below. I'd like a poseable skeleton if I can find one so that I don't have to build a frame to hold him up.

Any help or opinions you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated!

This prop will be going into the back room in this pic...

I used baulusters to make my ships wheel. Worked out great for me since it was my first prop.

The skeleton I used is poseable . Check this guy out and see if he may work for you too.5' Bones the Pirate - Costumes

I used the legs off an old stool for mine...The Ships Wheel was a Wagon Wheel from Harbor Frieght tools.

You can find 5ft Posable latex skeletons at Spirit Halloween Stores for $69 during the halloween season...but you can also find a 5ft Bucky Skeleton for the same price.

I used the wagon wheel from Harbor Freight and stair spindles that I picked up at a yard sale. You can also get them new at Lowes or Home Depot.

Aaahhh! Great suggestions my friends! I went to Lowes and found a bunch of table legs as Jas34 suggested. I bought the 6" and 8" legs. I lay it out with each size, take pictures and get some opinions as to which looks better. I think the 2" will make quite a difference, but I'lll have to see. I'll post them when I get a chance. Thanks all!
