Heads up everyone, BigLots has a minimal supply of these $10 200w base speakers called "BaseBlaster". I tested it using a substantial stereo and a thunder soundtrack and it rumbled very nicely! Certainly worth the money. It's 18" long with an 8' diameter.

They haven't showed up at my local BL yet - hope I didn't miss 'em! BTW - they did have the $5 lanterns in stock. Perfect for installing a flickering tealight.

My local Big Lots didn't have the speakers and nobody seemed to know anything about them. I did buy all 3 of the $5 lanterns they had in stock though.

I was able to get one of these, brought it home and wanted to test it out on my stereo system. I've never added a sub-woofer to my surround system.
It turns out that my stereo only has line-level out to the subwoofer. These subwoofers (from BigLots) are passive, meaning they don't have a built-in amplifier....they require amplified positive and negative audio input.
Does anyone have a lead on a 200W amplifier for the low-end audio range that accepts line-level input and provides speaker output?Fright in Falcon - Behind the Scenes
