You may want to announce how much you are charging then, because 90% of this forum is congratulating you for your generosity, and don't realize that this thread is just a marketing ploy.
I think you are confusing this project with my previous one, no where have I stated that this will be 'Free', just affordable. Also, I've been working with Jon @ Brookshire to bundle VSA Console with my application, and have discussed the point with this forum that I will be getting them VSA Console at a discount, not free.

    What a discussion.

    Make sure everyone stays nice.

    My 2 cents:
It is good to always be clear about your posts.
If you are not sure what someone has said, ask for clarification.

Competition has always happened and always will. Businesses should always realize this.
I remember back in 2002 when I launched this forum, there really was not any forum of the sort (that had any membership base anyway).
Since then, many forums have popped up.
Most even come and do their initial recruiting here.
What this meant to me is that I had to step-up my game.

    -----
If you are the best at a service or product, do not worry about competition.
If you are new with a service or product, know that you have to be unique.
    -----

Of course, this is just my opinion.

I have to agree, this is highly unprofessional. Why don't you guys take it up with the Admin privately?

    Thanks Larry...

If I've mislead anyone by stating that this would be free, I'm Sorry! but it will not be. I've already spent personal money to secure a discounted deal with Jon at Brookshire for the required VSA Console portion. So your funds will cover the cost of VSA Console and my time. For those that think this is a knock off of Sequencer, please support Jerry and Skulltronix. If you need additional functionality, then I'm here to help.

Jerry/Phoenix: I'm sorry if I've stepped on your toes. Believe it or not, I did not know of Sequencer until Jerry had posted here. This also seemed to have been the case with many other members. You can't possible say that my application is a clone of yours... from your description, your appears to be very basic (not because it couldn't have been more, but because you choose to leave it at that level). Which is great. I'm sure if users need more than 6 routines loaded, that you could easily do it for them.

Once again, I encourage any member that is looking to sequence, loop, & add delay their routine then Skulltronix is the answer. If you need a few digital triggers for routine automation, the ability to control output volume, randomize your routines, almost an unlimited # of routines queued up, etc... I'm here to help.

If its true that you know nothing about our products then you really have not been doing your research, I can tell you about the strengths and weaknesses of just about every control product in the haunting market, and have deliberately targeted our software products to a void in the market, there is so little money in this market that it is really not worth trying to compete with an otherwise identical product.

Sequencer was just a by-product of Exorcists development (it was actually the prototype), and your right 6 is just an arbitrary number based on the fact nobody needed more, and I don't really want to spend any time developing a 'by-product'.

Exorcist already has the digital trigger capability, volume control capability, and for several weeks now I've had the prototype for random and numeric control in testing..... in addition to this Exorcist offers sound file control, Video control, it is a USB native product and comes with an infra red control.... and can play up to 16 routines at the same time over a single DMX network.

The only thing new you are adding to the mix is infinite routines, and I discarded that idea because nobody has an infinite number of routines, few people have more than 2 or 3, plus I wanted instant play capability, the number of routines have been increased from 8 to 16 because 1 customer had 10 routines, and when someone tells me they have 17 Ill increase the limit to 32... and maintain the capability to play them all simultaneously with zero delay.

Unfortunately the market is extremely small, if you figure on 100 sales then you are doing VERY well.

Sorry to jump in in the middle of such a friendly debate Does this mean that exorcist is now able to run all rooms and sequences off one DMX adaptor? That's what i've been waiting for to order!!!
Anyway... continue on and sorry for the interuption...

Phoenix: Thank you for your reply and clarification. If someone needs one of your applications, I'm encouraging them to purchase it. I'm just giving them an additional option, no one wants a monopoly.

Please don't take this as sarcasism or the wrong way: If there is so little money in a market, why would a business enter it? Didn't you assume that others would join the supplier pool?

Just so everyone knows... I've spoken to Phoenix and have decided to stop public production of this software. Not because I feel bad for Skulltronix, Phoenix or Jerry.. I think it's going to be too much to publicly support it. I will however finish my current tasks and provide it exclusively to people here that may want it.

    Thanks for the support everyone!!!

First off, I want to say thanks to everyone who has PM'd me with their support. (and NO, I wasn't threatened by Phoenix or anyone else at Skulltronix). This was purely my decision. I came to the conclusion with work, graduate school, a new house, props to build, etc... that it would not be fair to customers (and I wouldn't feel right about it) to sell a product that I could not dedicate to support.

On that note, I am not throwing away this project either... I am going to finish up and attempt to bullet proof it as much as possible. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, let me know. You will need to acquire 'VSA Console' yourself, but that's only $16.
