So i was looking at halloween prop masters site tonight. I love pauls work and how he keeps it so cost effective. So he has come up with a new pvc design for a moving skull. I think it is a pretty cool set up. You can see it hear.

Ok, I'm officially impressed! I never would have thought outside the box to produce a 2 axis oscillation mech for a skull..Just terrific! I could build a hundred of these and place them anywhere in the yard. Thanks for posting this, I just love this.

must find reindeer to cannibalize for their motors...

The movement was so smooth and even something I could build...

That the motors aren't turning at exactly the same speed, creating a certain randomness in the movement from turn to turn, and the smoothness of the movements, makes this a very lifelike movement. Well done!

    Very impressive!
This is something I think I can do.
Would love to see it with the talking skull in place.

Like the link to the site for the motors, they would be lighter than a wiper motor and a little cheaper too, which is always good.

Just goes to show that Halloween people are highly creative.

^^ Thank you so much for the link. I've been trying the find these motors for the past couple of Halloweens. Now to buy them in bulk. I'd prefer to purchase these than to hack a wiper motor.
There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.

Thanks for the kind words...I've finally got some video with the talking skull on my web site.
    http://halloweenpropmaster.com/prop_head_movement.htm

    While I called this a $20 prop it's more like $25

I would be glad to answer any questions on the Poor Man's 3 Axis.
I'm working on something to make the motors stop and go, so it would not have continuous movement. Even with the motors not having a repeat motion (due to different speed/crank arms) I'd like a little stop/start on them if it can be done cheaply.
