Okay, So, My next big project that I would like to have finished by June is a replica of the Leechwoman puppet from the Puppet Master series. The replicas fullmoon put out of her are DISGUSTING, and I feel she needs to be brought to life.
If you dont know whom i'm speaking of, here's a video showing clips of her:
YouTube - PUPPET MASTER "" LEECH WOMAN ""
Basically, She's just a doll. But i want to start from scratch, sculpting her entire body and casting it, then molding it with what is needed. Since this will be my first time casting and molding- i need some insight. By the looks of the video, she is basically (or at least her upper torso) is reinforced foam/rubber latex. I would want the arms and head to be, so that I can place wires inside her arms to pose them. It would probably be best to just do this for the entire body, making an armature and placing it into the mold. I would want to make her with an opened mouth, so i can (of course) have lovely slimey leeches hanging from her mouth. Hair, clothing, and painting is not a problem- Im use to it. But I want to get into the whole molding aspect. Basically i need to know what sculpting clay should I use? What foam latex should I buy? I know that once I sculpt her, i use plaster to cast it. So I got that part down. I have a limited budget. So yeah, any help is needed!
If anyone has any pointers, or what exactly I should use, let me know. I'm in dire need of help. xD
Thank you!

Would it be better to use water based sculpting clay? It will be my first time sculpting, so would it be better to use oil based? I'm not too sure, because since the figure will have rather thin body parts- I dont want anything to happen to them during the process of being molded by the plaster. I have a feeling I should divide it into sections- Like arms, torso, head, legs. So I will not worry about it as much, but then again. It might be easier just using Water based clay and making the entire figure at once.
I really would like some help. :] Thankies!

I use oil based clay when I am sculpting (chavant NSP).I would probably do the whole thing at once then you don't have to worry about attaching them later also, foam latex would be good for the casting but if you are on a limited budget you may want to find something else. With the foam latex you need all the foam components plus a good quality 12 speed mixer and an oven to bake it all in.If you decide to go that route check out www.monstermakers.com call or email Arnold he is very friendly and knows his stuff he will be able to point you in the right direction. Also if you want her to be static you could use 2 part expanding foam to cast it.I will quit rambling now give Arnold a call and chack outy monster makers

Sounds like a good idea. I was actually (now dont laugh) thinking of using great stuff, since she will infact be stationary- and all that would be moving really is her arms to bend, and great stuff bends i've found out, when you bend it slowly. But what I'm wondering is if the great stuff will actually be able to get into all the little crevices like the fingers/facial features etc.
I talked to Arnold, he is a nice guy. I had only asked him questions about his products, though. I may shoot him up again later. I dont know yet.
Thank you for your help!
