Recently been inspired by Twister, and The Wizard Of Oz.
I think it would be cool to somehow create a way for my Victims..err Guests, to feel as if they are in a area with a Tornado fast approaching. I would love to do it with a moving ...Twister, and wind would be easy to create, any ideas?

Just have loud wind noises and when they round the corner, throw blunt objects at their forehead... Just kidding.
Could you give some idea as to the layout of where you want the twister? Frond yard, back yard, etc.

I recently saw a real twister at the Boston Museum of Science while visiting...it was only 8 feet tall and wasn't particularly scary as you could reach out and touch it...
You can see it here:

Here is a project that popped up on my google search, but doesn't look exactly like the one in the museum:

Cheers from Ottawa - PS, really starting to melt outside now...

Incredibly loud speakers with wind roaring noise, and install a home-version of sensurround:
Sensurround involved the installation of up to 10 large Cerwin-Vega subwoofer speakers in black-painted wood cabinets, which were placed beneath the screen and in the corners of the theatre. The sound system was signaled by a separate control box attached to 1,600 watt BGW 750 audio amplifiers to drive the speakers.[3] When triggered by control tones on the film's optical soundtrack, the system generated an almost sub-audible rumble between 5 and 40 Hertz at sound pressures of 110-120 decibels, the results of which could be felt by audience members as well as heard. In the case of the film Earthquake, Sensurround was activated during the quake scenes to augment the conventional soundtrack.
Be forewarned - some theaters suffered structural damage from it...

Maybe you can arrange 3 large floor fans in a triangle pattern, aimed slightly off center of the triangle. It might give some kind of sensation that they are in the center of the tornado if they feel powerful winds from different directions that create a stirring motion of wind.

See. I kind of Envisioned it. almost like the scene from Oz. Where Judy Garland is standing by the gate with the Tornado approaching..proabably too difficult...

OK, here how I would approach it given a reasonable budget.....
Guests enter the tornado area which is large area dressed as desert with a cabin and a large back projection screen along one side, the guide gives some chatter, then points at the screen and screams 'tornado' quick follow me and runs into cabin.... screen shows vid of approaching tornado.
Inside the cabin speakers add noise, the cabin is mounted on hydraulic jacks to give movement and the cabin has some breakaway sections to give the impression of impending destruction, there is one window which is again back projected, lots of wind machines and a few leaves for good effect... maybe the cabin is mounted on a turntable such that you can increase the motion and turn it so the exit is to another section of the haunt (maybe OZ?)

I like that Idea also.
A cheep wind idea ($60)
Wal-greens have wireless/remote power plugs for $10
and Home Depot /Wal-mart have High velocity fans (Hircine fan) for about $20
a set of two would have a building effect.
I use to sleep with one of these fans i the window along side the bed in the summer, and if you don't tuck in or hold on to your blankets the fan can very easily blow them off the bed LOL
