Hey all.
Well i finely got a fire lit under my butt and finished the bottomless pit. I finished doing the stone work for the front and a side. I left the back side blank. There will be a prop behind this so it will not show. Plus the fact that doing the stone work took a lot more time than i anticipated. I used 1/2'' molding to secure down the plexi with. I only screwed the bottom of the molding so it can be removed for work on the inside. I made up a small sign to go along with it and just finished out the paint. Below are a few pics and a video of the finished prop.
Tomorrow i will be having a tatoo done. This is my second. The first was about 20 years ago. Tatoos to me have to be a very personal thing considering they will be there until i get my pine box. So i decided that since the Burrhill Boneyard holds so much for me and my little one and over the past few years his interest and mine only grows by leaps and bounds. I decided to get one for our haunt. It will be a tombstone with RIP across it with a skelly hand coming out of the ground. Along side the stone will be a pumpkin and above it all will be our haunt name. I will post pics when it's done. Here's to all my fellow haunters. Keep doing what your doing, cuz somebody has to.

I live in Sevierville, TN and there is a major tourist area here (Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg). There is a Hunted house attraction here and they have a pit effect there. With a different effect. It is a wishing well.
And when you drop the coin down the in the grad that covers the top. And bony hand comes out from the side to collect the coin and drags it in to an open chest. (Donations)
Any ideas on how this is done. I'll go soon and sneak my camera in and try to get footage for a closer look at the effect.

I think this is magic....no really, its all smoke and mirrors...OK maybe not so much on the smoke side, but I assume they use a combination of mirrors and glass to create the effect. As well, the hand may even be a projection on one of the pieces of glass
If you could send footage that would be great, I'm sure its not THAT complex!- The Crypt Keeper
