I was working out in my front yard over the weekend, and my thoughts invariably turned to Halloween and how to make my yard haunt better for 2008. In the past, I had been using a fog machine and a rudimentary chiller to try to create “atmospheric” fog, with limited success. The trials and tribulations of those trying to achieve that effect are well documented on this forum. Does anyone have any ideas of other ways that I could use my fog machine?
I think it would be really neat to have a gargoyle on top of the porch that spewed smoke/fog at the TOTs at they walked underneath it, but that is well beyond my artistic ability to pull off. Has anyone ever piped fog out of a tombstone, like out of a face carved into it? I also thought about doing a hell mouth, but thanks to the expanded daylight saving time, it was quite bright out in 2007 when most of the TOTs came through, so I fear the effect would be lost.
So how about it, what are some other ways that you all used fog machines?

How about a skeleton or ghoul with a cigarette in his hand and smoke coming out of the neck and/or head part?

You could do what alot of people do and put it into a cauldron so you have a smoking cauldron.
Can you stake my heart?

Good point GD. I do a hell pit every year and I use the fog machine for that.

I have a video that i'll try and get online to youtube
My gargoyle does exactly that...breath smoke!
He is perched atop my fence column and is controlled by a prop 1 and a relay for the fogger. He has red eyes and some RED up lighting to give him a spooky effect!
Doing this was simple:
A 2" PVC pipe CLOSE to the fogger ( NOT ATTACHED you need the air flow for the suction!!) runs into my colomn, 90' connector faces up and go right up into the gargoyle with a long peice which 90's out its mouth.
Mine actually has a connection point between the gargoyle and the column, thats just for mounting purposes its easier and so it won't stand to tall in storage, easier to transport. As well it provides me a good place to tuck all the controllers in.
I don't have pictures of this setup but i will upload the video of the final product to youtube asap and link it here!- The Crypt Keeper

some will put the fogger on the porch roof and run through a chiller to have fog falling down over the walkway. Deffinately an effect the average Joe doesn't have.
**Personal Note It seems everyone has a fog machine these days, but boy oh boy they sure don't know how to use it like we haunters doBitterroot Haunted.............Fear has taken root

Heres the video, please ignore the audio and sorry about having to turn your monitor on its side! Totally forgot about that when taking it! I need to get some video editing software and fix those issues!!
it was VERY VERY Windy here when i took that video. When fog is ejected from the gargoyles mouth it actually comes out in a straight path for a bit and then disperses
ENJOY!

Further back (couple months worth) there is a thread I started abt using foggers for pirate cannons, using a PVC manifold, pnuem valves to open/close to release the fog out the cannon tube.. I'm going to have it on the Pirate ship for this year. As foggers are getting cheaper and cheaper(can find them the week B4 Halloween for $10-$20) I was going to get several and fed each cannon with a dedicated fogger.. or one fogger for two cannon barrels..

I am designing a vertical fog-chiller that could be built into a headstone. It would lay a blanket of fog from a hidden gap near the bottom.
My tikis have fog machines in them, with a PVC splitter to channel fog out of both nostrils. You can see it here: http://www.starkmadness.com/photos/d...album=20&pos=3
