I sent GE a heated complaint e-mail about the quality of their floods and how the paint was chipping and such. They sent me back and email saying how they would send my email to management and how I would be conisdered for a replacement. Last night I got a 10.00$ coupon for any lightbulb in the GE series. This completely covers the cost of one flood, the other flood I bought is still in awsome condition. SO.. I would highly suggest sending in complaints!!

If you go to a theater supply shop you can buy sheets of gel in every color under the sun. The gel is just a thin sheet of colored plastic that can be cut to any size you may need. It might be a great alternative for you. If you would like to get more information on gels one popular brand of is Rosco.

Good to know GE stands behind thier products!
Rosco should still have thier swatch book you can order. It's usually $10-15 I believe and it comes with a sample of ALL thier gels. It has tons and tons of color and variants in it. Lot of fun to check out and can really help you order the exact gel you want. Lets face it. When you look at the catalog and it says "Warm sea foam" or "Light dark purple" what the heck is that anyway? the swatch book is really good to help determine what will work best without ordering and being unhappy with the gel.Bitterroot Haunted.............Fear has taken root

Yeah, the paint on those flood wears off and your colored flood becomes a white flood.
I switched to LEDs this year for THAT purpose, and the bonus was reduced threat of fire and lower energy usage.
Maybe I'll try to get a couple bulbs replaced by GE, though... good to know!
PS - I bought a huge pack of gels on ebay for pennies.
