I have been so be busy with work that I haven't posted anything that I have been working on. But here is the start of my sound system for my graveyard, it is powered by 2 PC power supplies that power 4 car audio decks that then gives me 4 sets of 8 channels to play different sound throughout the haunt I plan to do a how too for this on my site but am slow lol... here are some pics of the work I got done on it over the weekend....
here's the start of my box 18'' squared
placement of the deck brackets and air hole's for the PC fans
started cutting
inserted the metal brackets and sealed them with wood glue
started to do the pre install of all the electronics

and here are a few more of all the decks in and you can see where the wiring is and the inside of the box...

I have to still add the hole's for all the speaker wires and a few other little things but I should knock it out tonight and will post the finished product in a day or two...
If you have any questions feel free I have been wanting to build something like this for a while and have done a lot of research so i know this will work and works great!!!!

Wow thats a sweet little setup!
I might make one suggestion, flip it upside down!! Put those fans on the TOP blowing out the warm air ! Hot air rises and will collect at the top of the enclosure. Drill some small holes on the bottom face to suck in cool fresh air !
What type of car decks are those? Price? I like this idea ....- The Crypt Keeper

Thankz for all the complements...and that issue had come to me and I already had a fix for it. I had a 12 volt box fan kicking around and I just added it to the mix...It's on the top board and will push the air out just fine it will be the last thing I add because I am doing all the work through top of the box... all add some more pics tomorrow I am all most done all the wiring so by tomorrow I should be done....

It fully just occurred to me that the fans holes i see there are for your power supplies! So what if I'm like 2 days slow.
Adding simple fans to small projects like this can be simple and very helpful, specially when any electronics are involved. Many times we put electronics into enclosures that allow them to build up heat. This deteriorates the electronics and shortens their life span. If your not using heat sinks for your larger electronics projects a good idea is to use some small fans which are commonly available in anything from 5volts up to 600volts!
Another place you can see this in full effect is a computer room where they even go to the extent of adding air condition to the rooms. I've worked in two MASSIVE computer rooms, one is said to be the biggest in Canada, it was a kept a cool 15 degress in there with AC units and they even had backup AC units!- The Crypt Keeper

What made you decide to use car stereos and this setup? It is an interesting setup, just curious . I love buttons and knobs and blinky lights!
Did you consider a PC with something like an 8-channel usb sound card?
Can't wait to see more photos!

Are you using these to play CD's as 4 seperate CD players, or are you using them as just amplifiers? Nice work BTW.
