Hey everyone, Ive been looking around on Unit 70's site and they have some amazing props. I have settled upon one I would like to copy to have as my host on my roof. The pneumatic and armature parts I can easily figure out. What I dont get is what would be the best way to build the body itself. The muscles look easy enough, maybe stretched fabric coated with latex... but other than that I dont know.... Heres the Pict and another Pict and one more Pict
Any Ideas????
Thanks, Mike

I would use a pvc frame and then flesh it out with blue/pink foam

if i was gonna do something that big i'd do sections and use a tried and true process heres a great video of Ron Mueck using fibreglass, resin and silicone the process starts around 11:40 if you want to skip right to it.

Wow that looks like quit the project!
If you have the option and know how, I would suggest using a metal frame.
As for building it out, there are many options but you want it as light as possible so your pneumatics don't have to work as hard or be as big!
I hope in the next few years to be able to do a creature of this size and magnitude! Please post whatever your findings are and keeps lots and lots and lots of pictures on your way through the building process!!- The Crypt Keeper

Wow , now that's a prop!!! I think that if your gonna do it you should do it right. Take a look at Vilething's Waylighter. The process is time consuming but the good thing about it is you could make more than one. Maybe sale one or two.

Holy cow, the Unit 70 props are pretty amazing looking and (relatively speaking) priced much lower then I would have thought. Please update with your progress-I'd love to be able to create something like that!
O/T: I'm watching Ace of Cakes right now and they're making an Exorcist cake complete with spinning head and green vomit for some guy's huge Halloween bash. Sounds.....disturbing....yet......delicious.
